Sunshine Sharing - Silicon

Silicon is one of the most abundant minerals on the planet and is primarily found in the form of silicon dioxide, which is what creates quartz and other crystals, quartz-based sand, and is a major component a major type of glass. Despite its abundance, modern diets are often lacking in silicon because it is primarily found in the chewy, fibrous parts of plants like peelings, barks, and seed husks, which are commonly disposed of in modern food preparation.

If your fingernails are brittle, your hair is frizzy or falls out, your skin lacks luster, and your bones and joints lack strength and resilience, you're probably not getting enough silicon. A lack of silicon may also contribute to a lack of resilience in your nervous system, too. This month's Sunshine Sharing is devoted to ways to get more silicon in the diet.
