Sunshine Sharing - Autoimmune Disorders

What Do You Do When Your Immune System Attacks?

The job of the immune system is to protect the body from foreign substances that are harmful to health. To do this, it must correctly identify what belongs to the self and what is harmful to the self.

There are two basic conditions where the immune system has problems with this. In allergies, the immune system overreacts to harmless environmental influences. In autoimmune diseases, it acts as if the body’s own tissues were the enemy and attacks them.

This issue of Sunshine Sharing explores potential reasons why the immune system is malfunctioning in autoimmune disorders and what you can do to help balance and regulate immune reactions to restore health.

The most important thing to do, however, is to determine what’s causing the depression and fix it. We’ll give you some great ideas on how to do that in this issue of Sunshine Sharing.
