Each day about 15% of the people in the world have a headache. In the average year, it has been estimated that at least 90% of the population has at least one headache. About one out of six people suffers from chronic problems with headaches and five percent of all adults have a headache almost daily.
There are many types of headaches. Tension headaches are the most common and account for about one-quarter of all headaches. Some of the worst are migraines, which affect about 14% of the population. There are also cluster headaches, sinus headaches, hormonal headaches, headaches from hypertension, and more.
