At one time, most people had many survival skills. They knew how to garden, preserve food, cook from scratch, build fires, purify water, make shelters, gather local plants for food and medicine, hunt and fish, and much more. Today, unfortunately, many people can't even prepare their own food from scratch, let alone know how to survive without their technology.

It would be difficult for the average person to acquire all these skills without years of training, but there are some basic things everyone ought to know, such as how to build a fire, purify water and create an emergency shelter. We'll talk about some of these basic survival skills in this webinar. We'll also talk about some of the more advanced skills you could learn in order to be able to work cooperatively with others in the event of a wide-scale emergency such as a war or economic collapse.

Of course, for herbalists, one of the big skills that would be useful is to know your local edible and medicinal plants. Unfortunately, many modern herbalists don't know much about field botany or plant identification as they depend on commercial products. We'll also talk about this problem, and introduce the series I'll be teaching for members on field botany, plant identification, and using single herbs.
