The Strategic Herbal Training Program can help you become effective at using herbs and other natural healing modalities to help people regain and maintain good health. This program consists of five parts or modules, each having eight lessons. It helps you become proficient at using Steven's Strategies for Health book (and the material found in our member database) to help people rebuild their health rather than just relieve their symptoms.
The entire course is offered as a part of our member program at StevenHorne.com. There will be twenty lessons presented over two years. Eight lessons in each module. The five modules are:
We follow a learning and teaching model developed by Walter Gong from San Jose State University. This model suggests that learning is more than just memorizing information presented by a teacher. Capturing ideas is the first step in learning, but you also need to expand on the ideas you capture by your own thinking, research, and application. You also need to share the information with someone else.
This is an apprenticeship model of learning. You observe how to do something, then do it yourself, then show someone else how to do it. It is the most effective way to master any subject. In fact, the traditional three tiers of higher education, bachelor, master, and doctorate (PhD) degrees were based on this idea. The bachelor has captured the ideas, the master has learned to successfully apply them, and the doctor is the teacher, the one who passes the knowledge onto others.
There is also a fourth part of this process which is self-evaluation. This is where you assess how well you have captured, applied, and shared the material.
Each lesson in this course will follow this learning process as follows.
You'll capture the information by attending or watching the webinar class. You will also be given a reading assignment from the Strategies for Health book. It may include additional reading materials from Steven's other books and course manuals.
You will be given exercises to help you expand on what you have learned and apply it. This may include additional resources you can look at, exercises you can do to gain experience with the material, or questions for you to consider to expand your understanding.
You will be encouraged to share what you learn in each lesson with someone else. By explaining major concepts to another person you will cement them in your mind.
Each lesson will also have one or more self-study quizzes you can take to evaluate how well you have mastered the material in that lesson.
