Sage Consulting and Apothecary

She is not a doctor. She does not diagnose nor prescribe. Instead her goal is to educate and empower her clients to care for themselves in an earth-centered manner. Her approach is anchored in Vitalism, a tradition that respects the body’s innate ability to heal itself if given the proper physical, spiritual and mental nourishment. In the clinic, she employs the Western Constitutional Assessment technique developed by Michael Moore, a method which focuses on the unique constitution and organ state of each client, as well as the energetics of individual herbs and formulations.

Care is given to ensure clients are educated regarding the importance of restoring and maintaining a health microbiome in order to achieve proper absorption of nutrients. Careful attention is given to strengthening the immune system as well as weakened organ systems. Nutrition always receives top priority, for without adequate nutrition, wellness can never be achieved.

What to expect during the consultation: After reviewing your detailed intake form, Valerie conducts a thorough interview with you to uncover health history and lifestyle details. She will often chart your tongue, nail and facial features related to your health as needed. She also gathers information to assess all bodily systems for excesses and deficiencies. She will then design specialized herbal formulations for you and make recommendations for supplements and dietary changes based on any imbalances.

Preparing your formulas: Sage Consulting & Apothecary offers an on-site herbal pharmacy and apothecary containing over 200 herbal tinctures and bulk herbs. All special tincture, capsule or tea blends designed for you will be prepared on site, usually the same day. Re-fills may be ordered by phone through the clinic.
