The eight lessons in this module help you understand that there is a positive purpose in every negative emotion. In these lessons, we discuss that emotions are positive and negative influences in our lives depending on whether we deal with them constructively or destructively.  We discuss the major emotions we consider negative—anger, fear, and grief—and the purpose of each in our lives. 

We discuss what happens when we vent these emotions (that is place the blame for them on others) and what happens when we suppress or deny the same emotions (pretending we don't feel them). We also discuss what happens when we learn how to recognize what these emotions are telling us about ourselves and the actions we take to turn them into motivations for positive changes in our lives.
